DMK Alkaline Wash in Culcheth, Warrington

Unwanted facial hair can affect how your skin looks and feels. DMK Alkaline Wash is a professional treatment particularly suited to fine, downy hair, often called peach fuzz.

At NC Natalia’s Skin Clinic, we assess your hair type, skin condition and previous hair removal experiences before recommending a treatment plan.

What is DMK Alkaline Wash?

Alkaline Wash uses a specialised alkaline formulation to dissolve unwanted hair. It can treat an area of fine hair in one appointment, rather than working on individual hairs.

Unlike laser and IPL, it does not rely on pigment within the hair. This makes it an option to consider for fine, light or colourless hair.

What happens during treatment?

Natalia assesses the area and applies the professional formulation, monitoring your skin and the hair throughout. Once the hair has dissolved, the product is removed and the area is neutralised. Appropriate finishing products are then applied.

Application time depends on the hair and your skin’s response. It is only one part of the appointment.

Which areas and hair types can be treated?

Fine hair on the upper lip, chin and sides of the face may be suitable. The area to be treated is agreed during your consultation.

Coarse chin hairs and strong beard growth need a different assessment. Alkaline Wash can remove some thicker hair temporarily, but ongoing reduction should not be assumed. Another method may be more appropriate.

How does it compare with other hair removal methods?

Alkaline Wash dissolves hair rather than pulling it out with wax or treating individual follicles with electrolysis. Its ability to work without hair pigment is particularly relevant when considering fine facial hair.

An alternative to waxing is not automatically suitable for every sensitive skin. We assess your skin before proceeding.

Is it comfortable, and is there downtime?

The formulation may initially feel cool. Tell Natalia immediately if you experience discomfort.

Temporary redness, dryness, sensitivity or peeling can occur; some clients may develop superficial crusting. Allow time for your skin to settle before an important event.

How many appointments will I need?

There is no fixed course suitable for everyone. Initially, hair may return at its usual rate. Repeat treatments may gradually reduce the appearance of fine hair and extend the interval between appointments.

Your plan depends on regrowth and skin recovery. Permanent removal is not guaranteed, and hormonally influenced hair may continue to grow.

Will the hair grow back thicker?

DMK describes Alkaline Wash as a treatment intended to reduce hair growth, rather than make it thicker or darker. Changes in facial hair can also have hormonal causes.

How should I prepare and care for my skin afterwards?

Before your appointment, tell us about your skincare, medication and recent waxing, threading, laser or skin treatments. We will explain any preparation required.

After treatment, follow the personalised DMK homecare instructions provided. Protect the area from sun exposure, avoid sunbeds and do not pick peeling or crusting skin. We will confirm when you can resume make-up, exfoliation and active skincare.

Recommended homecare and its cost will be discussed before treatment. Contact the clinic if irritation persists or worsens.

Who is DMK Alkaline Wash for?

Treatment may be considered for:

• Fine, downy facial hair or peach fuzz
• Light or colourless hair
• Unwanted fine hair on the upper lip, chin or sides of the face
• Clients seeking an alternative to their usual hair removal method

Suitability depends on both your hair type and skin condition.

What results can you expect?

• Removal of unwanted hair in the treated area
• A smoother feel after hair removal
• Potential reduction in the appearance of fine hair with repeat treatments

Hair will regrow after initial appointments. Results and maintenance needs vary. Coarse or hormonally influenced hair may continue to grow.

Is Alkaline Wash suitable for your skin?

A consultation and patch test are required before your first DMK Alkaline Wash treatment. Your treatment appointment will be arranged after the patch test has been assessed.

Tell us about allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, medical conditions, medication and recent skin treatments.

Treatment may need to be postponed if the area is broken, sunburnt, infected or actively irritated. Skin sensitivity and a history of pigmentation after irritation also require assessment.

Preparation, suitability and aftercare are discussed before proceeding.
